Utan Bisaya or Vegetable Soup Cooked The Native Way in TamGu Grill - Cebu

Utan Bisaya is one of the most common vegetable soups in Cebu, in fact the name means vegetable (utan). It's very healthy with leafy greens and a multitude of other vegetables to make this warm soup that is not only delicious but also good for the body.

There's nothing like native food. TamGu Grill is able to replicate local delicacies just the way our grandparents used to make it. And you don't even have to break a sweat. You can just order and even tell them how you want it done - a little spicy or a little salty. They can customize it for a better dining experience. It's quite affordable as well.

Sizzling Pork in TamGu Grill - Cebu

One of my colleagues told me I'm a meat girl, and she's absolutely right. I enjoy well-cooked pork like the sizzling pork served in TamGu Grill, Paseo Arcenas Cebu.

The pork is grilled to perfection and set on top of a sizzling platter with butter and it just smells delicious. It gets even better when you bite into it - juicy and tasty.

TamGu Grill Cebu - The logos that didn't make the cut

We studied a lot of logos before settling for the one with the fire above the I and the semi-cursive font for TamGu Grill. Here are some of the studies we worked on before settling on it.

TamGu Grill Cebu - Shell Soup

Halaan of fresh clams are great with soup. I didn't always like drinking it but when I was pregnant, I was told it was good for lactating mothers and so I was made to drink a couple of bowls daily. You could say it's an acquired taste. It's pretty good when the clams are fresh, just the way they serve them in TamGu Grill.

TamGu Grill Cebu - Fresh Kinilaw

For some reason, fresh uncooked food is quite appealing to some people. I'm not that fond of it, but Kinilaw na Tangigue is a popular Cebuano delicacy. For this reason, Kinilaw is also served in TamGu grill

TamGu Grill Cebu - Filipino Barbeque (BBQ)

There are a lot of good barbeque places in Cebu, one of these is TamGu Grill in Paseo Arcenas. In English, pork barbeque is called pork skewers. Sounds classy but it's really just the same thing. Nevertheless, the sweet barbeque sauce is just really delicious. TamGu Grill also serves chicken barbeque as well. It's a favorite of kids.

TamGu Grill Cebu - Fresh Fruit Shakes

Fresh fruit shakes are all the rave these days because everyone wants to be healthy. I have to admit it's better than the all-sugar and preservative-filled juices available in the market today. Fresh fruits are now a staple to many people because they're not only refreshing and cool, they're also healthy. TamGu Grill serves fresh fruit shakes like ripe mango, watermelon, sometimes even avocado when it's in season.

TamGu Grill Cebu - Crispy Kangkong

Any mother will tell you how difficult it is to get children to each vegetables. It's rare to find a child who genuinely loves to eat vegetables. I can relate because I have an eight-year-old. I've noticed though that crispy veggies like the crispy kangkong seen below served in TamGu Grill is quite appealing to young kids and those young at heart as well.

TamGu Grill Cebu - Sago't Gulaman

One of Cebu's famous local refreshment and dessert sago't gulaman is sometimes referred to as samalamig. This drink consists of gulaman cubes and/or sago (tapioca pearls) in brown-sugar water flavored with vanilla or pandan leaves. TamGu Grill serves this best with crushed ice in a tall glass. It's sweet and cold with enough tapioca pearls to keep you busy chewing as a dessert. Sometimes it's served by vendors along the street, but it would be better (and safer) to get it from TamGu Grill :)
